• Conducting company residence
and transfer pricing reviews for a number of multinational corporates
• Acting for a number of high net-worth individuals in relation
to certain anti avoidance legislation concerning the transfers
of assets abroad
• Acting for a number of high net-worth individuals with
undisclosed offshore income and assets and assisting them with
HMRC’s various disclosure opportunities
• Acting for a number of large multinationals who are involved
in the tax group litigation orders which concern EU discrimination
issues
• Acting for a major retailer in a complex transfer pricing
dispute
• Acting for a large corporate client in a VAT dispute which
is to be referred to the Court of Justice of the
European Union
• Acting for numerous clients facing allegations by HMRC
of participation in missing trader intra-community (MTIC) VAT
fraud in their wider supply chains
• Acting for corporate clients issued with HMRC customs
duty post clearance demands and excise duty
assessments concerning matters such as tariff classification,
origin, valuation, anti-dumping duty or movement irregularities
• Acting for clients who have had goods detained or seized
by HMRC
Adam Craggs, Partner and Head
of RPC's Tax disputes, financial crime and regulatory team
Described as "knowing the regulations and the tax rules inside
out and relentless in his defence of clients and more often than
not [seeing] off the Revenue," Adam is one of the UK’s
leading tax dispute resolution practitioners and an accredited
mediator, with over 30 years’ experience in this area. Adam
advises on a wide range of tax issues (direct and indirect taxes)
and has particular expertise in assisting clients with HMRC enquiries
and litigation before the Tax Tribunals/ Higher Courts. Prior
to joining RPC, he spent 16 years in the Solicitor's Office at
HMRC and is very familiar with how the department operates.
Adam is the co-author of Tolley's
'A Practical Guide to Tax Appeals' and a contributor to 'Whiteman
& Sherry on Income Tax' and 'Whiteman & Sherry on Capital
Gains Tax'. Adam was recognised as Lawyer of the Year, Tax and
Trusts in the Spear's Wealth Management Awards 2021.
